Each year, 1 in 5 Ohioans take their lives.
Suicide devastates families, friends, and communities. And with substance use disorder and mental illness having a profound impact on Ohio’s growing suicide rate, it was time to direct our focus, energy, and resources for suicide prevention.
In 2020 we teamed up with state and county agencies, private providers, philanthropic organizations, and local coalitions, and with advocacy input from families and suicide survivors, developed a strategy to guide Ohio’s efforts to achieve the vision of no more lives lost.
Suicide has no boundaries. It knows no age. It discriminates against no one. No race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation is exempt. OSPF supports suicide prevention and mental health advocacy efforts. Our work involves connecting all Ohioans with community-based resources that can make a life-saving difference.
